Preparing for Surgery

The UCLA Center for Esophageal Disorders provides comprehensive care to patients with all types of esophageal disorders. The center draws from the expertise of gastroenterologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiologists who are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant esophageal disorders.

At UCLA, we want to give you the tools you need to feel prepared for your upcoming surgery.  We hope you will find the resources provided here useful in planning for surgery.

All of the documents related to surgery are available for download here.  Please find your surgery on the left navigation area.

At UCLA, we want you to feel at ease going into surgery.  We have several videos with information about esophageal surgery, and general thoracic surgery.  You will learn about the surgical preparation and recovery process.  We hope this will help you feel more informed about your upcoming surgery.
